Explore The Beauty Of Catamount By Foot

Explore winter in the Berkshires at Catamount Mountain Resort! Reserve a guided tour for a tranquil walk through the snow. Learn about wildlife, trees, geology, and history of the mountain from an experienced naturalist. 

How It Works

With some of the most skiable terrain in Massachusetts, Catamount has hundreds of acres of land to ski but also to hike and explore. Not skiing or riding today? This might be an ideal way to spend your day surrounded by the natural beauty of the Berkshires. You will have the opportunity to learn about the surrounding nature from an experienced naturalist.

*Participants should be comfortable enjoying an extended amount of time outdoors


90 Minute Adventure

For all ages | Departs at 1pm

Never been snowshoeing or winter hiking? No problem! Learn how with our 90 minute adventure. You will walk along flat and steep terrain for over an hour. Depending on snow conditions, you will either use snowshoes, microspikes, or a good pair of boots to help you with traction along the way.

150 Minute Adventure

For all ages | Departs at 10am

This hike will take place on the western side of the mountain. It is designed for those who are familiar with hiking in winter climates and are comfortable with steep terrain. The experience will cover over a mile of mountain trails. Breaks will be taken to enjoy the scenery and learn about nature, history, geology and more.


Be Prepared

What Should I Bring?

  • Snow boots

  • Microspikes or snowshoes (inquire within for snowshoe availability)

  • Water

Be Prepared for Weather

  • Wear warm and waterproof layers.
  • If there is limited snow cover, snowshoes may not be ideal and instead waterproof boots that are able to traverse snow and ice are suggested. Please call ahead for hiking trail conditions.

Prior to reserving your tickets, please check the weather forecast for your chosen date.

Note: If unfavorable weather appears on your selected date, you can move it to another date at your convenience.

Upon Arrival

  • Arrive 20 minutes before your reservation time
  • Meet your personal guide outside of the First Aid (Ski Patrol) building
  • Begin your hike!
