Catamount Hosts First-Ever Cardboard Classic

Catamount Cardboard Classic

Catamount's first-ever Cardboard Classic was a day to remember. On Saturday, March 11th, 2023, around 30 teams participated in the event, building sleds out of cardboard and tape and racing them down the slope. The atmosphere was electric with participants and spectators excitedly cheering everyone on.

The creativity and enthusiasm shown by each and every team was truly inspiring. From elaborate designs to inventive costumes, each team brought their A-game to the event. Some sleds raced down the slope with incredible speed, while others sputtered out in the middle or crashed spectacularly, with teams left to pick up the pieces.

But it was clear that everyone had a great time, regardless of the outcome. The event was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit, and it was fantastic to see so many people come together to take part in this inaugural event.

We had awards given out in 6 different categories: Best Overall, Most Creative, Fastest Sled, Best Team Spirit, People's Choice, and Best Employee Entry. See below for the winners of each category along with a gallery of photos taken at the event.

Overall, the Cardboard Classic was a huge success, and it's clear that this event will become a beloved tradition in the Catamount community for years to come. So, if you're reading this and feeling inspired, start saving your cardboard now and get ready to join in the fun next winter season.
