MOUNTAIN CONDITIONS
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
The crew at Catamount Mountain Resort prides itself on providing the best conditions no matter what the weather. We've invested heavily in snow making and grooming in the last 18 months, adding almost 200 snow making machines, 3 grooming machines including a new Prinoth Leitwolf, 4 retention ponds, 3 pumps, and 5 miles of snow making pipe.

Sunday, January 26th
Today is looking like it will start out cloudy and shift to partial sun in the afternoon. The winds are expected to be a bit stronger, with a range of 9-16mph, but we should also see even warmer temperatures up to a high of 35°, and it should make for another nice day of skiing and riding.
Now for the snow. If you've taken afternoon runs recently, you may have noticed things getting a bit icy in spots. Although our trails are groomed every night, the moisture content of the snow is high right now, allowing it to freeze a bit more easily. You should still see great conditions in the morning, but on days with higher traffic, spots are going to get scraped off a bit in the afternoon. It's an inevitable outcome unfortunately. If this happens, head toward the edges of the trail where the groomed surface snow has been pushed, and consider exploring less steep trails where conditions tend to get scraped off less. There are always great turns to be had!
The mountain will be open from 8:30am to 4:00pm with the Ridge Quad, Catamount Quad, Meadows Triple, Promenade Triple, and Magic Carpets planned to run, accessing 32 trails!
- Snow tubing is open today with sessions at 10am, noon, and 2pm. Make sure to book ahead of time online to reserve your spot! Now is the time to book for this weekend as well.
- The Bobcat Park will be partially closed today for the USASA Slopestyle event. There are still features open to the public, and the full park will reopen at the conclusion of the competition.
- Uphill travel is open on the Promenade-Ridge and Sidewinder routes today. Please check this year's updated policies and info on the Uphill Travel & Touring page.
